Description of the work
Description of the work
Tullio Pericoli established himself as a painter and illustrator in Milan, and in the 1970s he began contributing to several magazines, such as "Corriere della Sera," "Linus," and "L'Espresso," and exhibited his work in Milan, Parma, and Urbino. He subsequently held solo exhibitions in Milan, Paris, and Munich, and in 1993 he received the Gulbransson Prize from the Olaf Gulbransson Museum in Tegernsee. In 1995, he also ventured into the theater, directing, designing sets, and staging numerous performances at La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Studio in Milan, and the Zurich Opera House. He held several exhibitions at venues such as the Museo Nazionale di Palazzo Venezia in Rome, the Galleria Ceribellii in Bergamo, and the Oscar Wilde House in Dublin. In 2009, the Osvaldo Licini Contemporary Art Gallery in Ascoli Piceno dedicated a retrospective to him, titled "Sedendo e mirando," and in 2010 he exhibited his landscapes and portraits in the show "Lineamenti, volto e paesaggio" at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome. One of his most recent exhibitions, "I paesaggi di Tullio Pericoli," was presented at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo in May 2016.
