Don Quixote de la Mancha , by Enzo Rotelli. Enzo Rotelli (Florence 1916-Rome ca. 1990) began as an illustrator of children's books. He illustrated: "Spring Comes Singing. Nursery Rhymes and Little Stories" by Adriana Genazzani Procaccia (1947); "The Adventures of Buccino", by Tilde Ragni; "Giro giro tondo. Tongue Twisters for the Littlest Children", by Adriana Genazzani Procaccia (1947). He also devoted himself to cartoon animation, illustrating - among others - "La montagna tonante", directed by Antonio Attanasi (1952), where the animators participate in the actions of their characters, offering a sample of their imagination and technical ability. As a painter, he dedicated himself above all to landscapes - including seascapes - and still lifes, but, in rare cases, also to portraits, as in the present painting, which recalls, in the drawing, his past as an illustrator.
