Description of the work
Description of the work
The San Trovaso boatyard stands along the canal of the same name and dates back to before the 17th century. It is one of the very few boatyards still in operation in Venice. The building that houses it has the typical shape of mountain houses, an exceptional feature for Venice.
The squero (meaning "shipyard" in Venetian: from the word "squara" which indicates the tool used to build boats) is the classic shipyard where small boats such as gondolas were built and repaired.
