Description of the work
Description of the work
Pierluigi de Lutti was born in Monfalcone on August 23, 1959. At the age of 17, he left the family home and moved to Ferrara, where for several years he alternated studies with sports. His lifelong interest in art—he graduated from the Art Institute—emerged in the 1980s when, upon returning to Friuli, he connected with Luciano Chinese's Nuovo Spazio gallery and the art critic Paolo Rizzi, who would follow him until his death in 2006. His artistic breakthrough, however, came with his frequent visits to the studio of Maestro Giuseppe Zigaina. The poet Mario Stefani wrote about him for a long time.
In those years, he began exhibiting his first works, which were appreciated by the public and critics, not only locally. In the 1990s, he attended long courses in abstract art in Los Angeles and New York, thus moving from figurative to informal. In 2005, he began collaborating with the Orler art gallery, and the general public immediately appreciated his work and continues to follow his artistic development with interest.
After selecting a work in 2005, "Doppia ferita 2001", the MoMa in New York invited him to join the Artist Viewing Program by including the catalogue Attuale Spiritualismo in the museum's library.
In 2008, after placing 2nd in the international Boe' prize, he was awarded a degree in art history by the University of Verbano.
