Description of the work
Description of the work
Olga Sala, born in Milan, has always drawn and painted (her first drawing award dates back to 1951, when she came fourth in a competition organized by the Corriere della Sera, open to all middle schools in Milan). In 1978, she began attending the Libera Accademia di Pittura in Nova Milanese, with Maestro Vittorio Viviani, whom she left in 2014, after 36 years. Since 1980, she has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, receiving excellent reviews, mentions, honorable mentions, and awards.
Example: Ca Bianca in Milan, reviewed by critic Monteverdi, Galleria Espinasse in Milan, reviewed by De Bono. Since 2005, she has been president of the "Gruppo Amici dell'Arte" in Nova Milanese, an association of painters that organizes painting exhibitions and other cultural events. Figurative in style, somewhat impressionistic, with bold, bold brushstrokes, she prefers copying from life, especially for figures, which she paints with monochromatic effects. A desire to explore new modes of expression has recently pushed Olga Sala to experiment not only with oil paints, but also with acrylics, modern materials, varnishes, tar, and paper, achieving excellent results.
Some of the main awards won: 1981 Durini Prize Silver Medal – 1985 Durini Purchase Award – 1989 Eustacchi Gallery Silver Medal – 1996 De Carli Painting Award, 3rd place. 2003 Porcelain Painting Competition, 3rd place. In 2010, she won first prize at the Cesano Maderno National Competition.
