Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been an artist's aspiration throughout the centuries. Moreno Morelli was a Pisan painter born in 1930 and died in 1989. His artistic output focused primarily on landscapes, genre scenes, and still lifes. His highly synthetic painting style is based on the application of dense, thick colors and displays a strong Symbolist-Expressionist influence.
