Mirko Pagliacci (Lausanne, 1959). In 1987, together with Nico Paladini, he founded the Metropolismo movement, which formally employs a traditional language, though it also includes influences from photography and the use of modern technology. Pagliacci graduated from the Art School in Rome, attended courses at the School of Nude, and studied with several artists, most notably working with Mario Schifano. The artist developed a personal style, far from transgression, constantly evolving, and evincing a propensity for improvisation.
