Innocenzo Melani is an artist specializing in the depiction of women, creating an ideal image of them, especially in his photolithographs. His aesthetic is based on lightness and gentleness, not only in the forms but also in the clothes, almost always a luminous white, and the large hats that almost veil the female figures in a veil of mystery. The gentleness of the woman corresponds to that of the landscape through which she moves, whether seascapes or cultivated fields, which are also characterized by the prevalence of a light-filled white.

He is a painter who has chosen to devote himself almost entirely to female subjects, portraying them in various situations, always united, however, by a sense of unreality, almost as if they were images from a dream or a memory. His paintings today belong to private and public collections in the USA and Switzerland, Peru and Germany, Portugal and Canada, as well as in Japan, Austria, Norway, Spain, and Belgium.
