Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a constant aspiration for painters. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

The style developed by Dario Biancardi in his still lifes, floral compositions, and landscapes demonstrates a post-Impressionist maturity: this artist's exploration, in fact, emphasizes the expressive potential of color, achieving remarkable heights in this stylistic register. The composition is entirely compressed into the foreground, without any allowance for spatial depth. The painter's aim is not to capture the sensory aspect of the fruit, flowers, or reality in general, but to capture their very essence, their substance. To this end, the brushstroke, rich in texture, intervenes, which, despite the essentiality of the representation, fleshes out the objects, breaking them down into different planes, recording the vibrations of light and life within them. The sensory aspect, therefore, is completely transcended in a complex conception of pictorial practice in which the artist's gestures themselves play a fundamental role. Even from a purely aesthetic perspective, the composition resolves itself in a harmonious dialogue of chromatic zones, created by the balanced arrangement of the colors. Finally, the use of light, which records vivid reflections, is noteworthy.

Born in Turin on February 27, 1936. He studied at the San Carlo Art School in Turin with Piero Dalle Ceste and Teonesto Deabate. A landscape painter, painter of still lifes, portraits and interiors, he has exhibited in solo shows in Turin: 1975 La Clessidra; 1977 Landscapes of Piedmont Competition (1st prize and gold medal); 1978 Comanducci; 1980 Vianzone; 1983 Torino Football Club; Fossano (1976 Civica); Courmayeur (1977 Center International); Bologna (1977 Caldarese Gallery); Alessandria (1978 Artetre); Buttigliera d'Asti (1978 Pro Loco); Rome (1979 Cida); Giaveno (1980 Corvo Blu); Verona (1981 Giò); Cento (1981 Il Guercino Gallery); Moncalieri (1981 Cavour); Chivasso (1982 Ariete); San Bartolomeo (1982 Azienda Soggiorno. He has participated in several group exhibitions and competitions.
