Dalio Mariani - Fragments of the Aquarium

This work is part of a series of paintings in which Dalio Mariani maintains his signature style, grounded in an abstract aesthetic vocabulary. However, in this case, this process isn't pushed to its limits. The floating entities still appear, but they're accompanied by other subjects whose biomorphism is more pronounced and almost comparable to phenomenal reality. Thus, starfish, aquatic swallows, and fantastical-looking fish appear, populating a surreal ecosystem, determined by the painter's creative will. The black-bodied creatures have long edges that culminate in Mariani's elegant graphic line. The artist's soft hues prevail, with a few more aggressive accents of yellow, orange, and violet. In terms of composition, the subjects maintain their usual compact backgrounds, while the background appears more lively and painterly. The overall sense of harmony that characterizes Dalio Mariani's paintings prevails.
