The Tree of Life

The tree of life is a symbolic element or iconographic motif recurring in various religions, mythologies, philosophies and cultures, each of which attributes to it mostly different magical and mystical meanings. Some examples are: the world tree of the Indo-European peoples, the mysterious sacred tree of the Assyrians[1] and the tree of life of the Kabbalah. The Tree of Jesse is also sometimes considered a tree of life.
The name "tree of life" is taken from the biblical tree of the same name, which represents the opportunity offered by God to man to share in eternal life.
The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which connects Heaven with the Underworld, as well as the Tree of Life, which connects all forms of creation, are part of the Second World Tree and are considered the same tree by various religions and philosophies.
The symbol of the tree can represent the fundamental Hermetic principle "as above, so below", precisely because of the profound connection between roots and foliage:
the roots: they make the tree of life solid and stable because they are deep and tenacious;
the trunk: it is neither too big nor too thin, and is the connection between heaven and earth;
the crown: branches reaching towards the sky, different types of fruit and lush leaves.
