Description of the work
Description of the work
Aldo Fornoni's engraving captures the form of a woman of understated beauty, her body rendered in slender, bold lines. Her hair is gathered in an elegant gesture, her hands clasped behind her neck. Her skin appears almost alive, with the light falling on her chest, face, and stomach.
In this work, too, we can admire the technical prowess of painter Aldo Fornoni in his portrayal of the human figure. Fornoni is an artist capable of a completely naturalistic rendering, characterized by a high level of formal purity. The anatomical details are depicted with great truth in a soft and smooth form. Every detail is meticulously defined. The lines are thin yet decisive. The pose is proud and sensual. The contrast between light and shadow creates a balanced composition.
Aldo Fornoni was a Milanese painter born in 1916 and died in 2011. He trained at the Brera Academy. Specializing primarily in nude figures, he taught life drawing for a long time at the Scuola del Castello Sforzesco and later in his own studio. His preferred techniques were oil, pastel, and watercolor. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
