Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has always been an artist's aspiration. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the 16th century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Aldo Bergamini's style is marked by landscape painting that successfully combines structure and pictorialism. Indeed, his works are based on a solid, clear drawing framework that delineates space on the canvas and indicates depth. At the same time, however, the objects are treated with a gentle pictorialism, delicately shading the forms into the atmosphere. Reminiscent of 18th-century Venetian art, the palette is decidedly chiaroscuro.

Aldo Bergamini was born in Bottrighe in 1903 and died in Venice in 1980. He was a painter who belonged to the Palazzo Carminati group, which expressed itself through plein air painting inspired by Venetian post-impressionism. He participated in numerous art exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. In 2010, he was present at the exhibition "Settepittori Settemondi. La Bohème di Palazzo Carminati" at the Torre Massimiliana di Sant'Erasmo in Venice.
