Between 2011 and 2013, Francesco Campese developed the Structures series, evolving from real urban scenarios into suspended, enigmatic architectural visions. The works depict fragments of buildings rising toward the sky—often seen from below or at oblique angles—composed through a rhythm of essential geometric lines.

Campese focuses on the effect of light upon form, exploring how it shapes volumes and shadows, and how architectural memory can emerge from abstraction. The city appears timeless, devoid of human presence, where the structures themselves acquire a silent and evocative quality.

These early Structures mark a crucial phase in Campese’s research: a dialogue between everyday reality and dreamlike perception, where architecture becomes an autonomous system of memory and suggestion filtered through a deeply personal pictorial language.
