Water Cave – Acrylic – Germana Falco

The painting is dominated by an intense blue, crossed by red and black areas and small yellow-green accents. Various types of flowers can be glimpsed, including the lotus flower. The paint is applied in overlapping layers and scratched through, with marks that reveal underlying layers of color. The overall composition has a dense, textured quality, built up through glazing, erasure, and sharp contrasts. The painting depicts a summer evening, the outward expression of an inner metamorphosis.
