Description of the work
Description of the work
Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has always been an artist's aspiration. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the 16th century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.
Vico Dadda's landscapes are always constructed with brushstrokes. A brushstroke charged with texture and color that structures the forms and simultaneously fills them with luminous vibrations. The composition is very simple, reflecting a simple, spontaneous spirituality of the places. The composition of the work is modest, almost casual.
Vico Dadda was a painter originally from San Pellegrino Terme (1933-2009). Trained at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo, his career was quite successful, and his works were exhibited at numerous events. The main source of inspiration for Vico Dadda's work was his native Brembana Valley, which he portrayed with a simple style, capturing the emotion of the places.
