Turri - Untitled

Landscape has always played a leading role in artistic research, both as a setting and a backdrop, but also as a subject in its own right. The naturalistic description of landscape has been a constant aspiration for painters. Each historical period has given its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its description: first with a research into space, through Brunelleschian perspective in the early Renaissance; then on atmospheric rendering, in the sixteenth century; up to the representation of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

The pastoral scenes created by the artist Turri stand out for their exquisite craftsmanship. Formally, there is an almost miniature technique in the precision with which the artist achieves a naturalistic rendering. From the point of view of composition, moreover, the paintings stand out for a coherent and unified construction, achieved in a carefully studied harmony in the arrangement of the elements. Unity is also guaranteed in the use of color that distinguishes Turri's works, based on a perfect tonal coherence. The entire space is measured by the same clear and bright light in which the objects are lost in a very delicate aerial perspective that reaffirms the classicist spirit of this representation. Light that creates slight reflections, on things and, above all, on the surface of the water, delicately transfiguring reality into poetry.

Turri is an artist who possesses a remarkable formal quality of certain academic training. His pictorial interpretation is of a traditional and strongly classicist type, characterized by a total immersion in nature thanks to a descriptive rendering that perfectly reproduces the sensory data. The quality of execution is embellished by a coherent tonalism and a unifying light that blurs the objects in a perfect aerial perspective.
