In Towel Rinascimento, a hand-engraved canvas takes shape, forging embroidered, sculptural draperies. They are laces carved by a modern Penelope, ritual gestures synonymous with purification and a perfect Zen exercise that reveal the fallible and unbridgeable nature of emotion. As delicate as they may be, Laura Ambrosi's works do not fit into a genre discourse; rather, they refer to a way of feeling and thinking typical of intimacy. A sculptural fabric obsessively decorated with Renaissance designs, a metaphor for rebirth. It is a soft drapery, with a delicacy that animates dreams, expectations, hopes.
