Description of the work
Description of the work
Mixed-media artwork featuring a bas-relief mirror and digital photo manipulation.
The composition is inspired by the Temple of Diana at Nemi, whose high priest in old age was challenged to the death by the aspiring successor. In the center is the symbol of the sun and moon, referring to Diana and her brother Apollo; the drop of blood refers to the violent method of succession. The photo manipulation (created from the artist's original writings and WITHOUT the use of artificial intelligence) evokes the woods and fresh waters, Diana's domains. The writing on the sides is also a tribute to Aristide Sartorio.
Unique piece.
