Sergio Gagliolo - Roses

"Roses" by Sergio Gagliolo depicts a bouquet of flowers that seem to sprout directly from the canvas. The roses, painted in delicate shades of yellow and white, are rendered with a strong textural texture. Their close arrangement almost evokes a natural explosion, as if the buds were about to bloom. The use of hints of green for the leaves creates a subtle contrast with the predominant colors of the roses, perfectly complementing the ochre background.  Gagliolo's style in "Rose" is characterized by its textured consistency and the use of colors that don't simply represent but interact with the canvas. The painting is in relief, with strokes that seem to model the shapes of the flowers. The choice of an ochre background is an element that gives the painting unity, a balance between the subject and the surrounding space.  Sergio Gagliolo (Bordighera 1934) is an artist who combines figurative tradition with material experimentation. His research focuses on the interaction between color and texture, using techniques that make his works almost three-dimensional. Gagliolo has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums. His work often explores natural themes, such as flowers and landscapes.
