Description of the work
Description of the work
Male marble bust, depicted from the chest up in elegant, formal attire, featuring a jacket, waistcoat, shirt, and tie in the fashion of the period. The face, with its carefully defined facial features, has a mustache and beard and a serious, composed expression. The figure is shown in an authoritative pose, with the gaze directed slightly upwards.
Below the bust is an elaborate heraldic crest, a decorative and identifying element of the composition. The crest features an ornate shield, surmounted by a rich crest and surrounded by scrolls and foliage motifs. The inscription “CARLO DELMOTTI” appears on the central band of the shield.
