Sandra Beorchia - Girl with Dolls

Portraiture is one of the most widespread artistic expressions, especially in the field of painting, but also in sculpture, throughout all eras. Above all, a portrait is a description of the represented subject, an attempt to faithfully and naturally capture their features and individual characteristics. As artistic exploration has progressively evolved, the physiognomic description of the subject has been accompanied by a psychological one. Thus, over the centuries, portraiture has also become a means of introspective inquiry into the subject, their character, and their state of mind. The processes of abstraction introduced by contemporary art have further supported this type of exploration.

From the analysis of this painting, we can see how Sandra Beorchia's style is also recognizable in the genre of portraiture. The artist pays close attention to capturing sensitive details, as evidenced by the faithful and precise physiognomic rendering of the face. However, naturalism serves as a starting point from which the painter reconstructs the world. Indeed, both the woman's dress and the objects surrounding her are rendered using a complex technique composed of precious geometric tiles made of transparent layers of color. Thus, the objects are constructed through a multifaceted mosaic arranged on different planes, seeking depth. The space becomes multidimensional, structured along various directional lines. Furthermore, a truly striking aesthetic effect is achieved thanks to the painter's extraordinary touch and lightness, which allows her to blend the application of color until it appears ethereal, almost impalpable. Finally, the palette completes the circle with a sparkling polychromy that makes Sandra Beorchia's work even more precious.

The artist Sandra Beorchia, as we can appreciate from the analysis of her works, is a painter who demonstrates an excellent academic technique. Through her research, she has developed a peculiar and highly original artistic language in which naturalistic rendering blends harmoniously with a geometric reconstruction of reality.
