Description of the work
The canvas depicts Saint Bartholomew in his great martyrdom. He opens his face to heaven, and with parted lips he converses with God. Alongside, on iron-colored paper, are engraved words about the encouragement of the Christian Faith to the viewer, a reference to martyrdom, that is, the Faith of our ancestors in Faith. The landscape is hilly with a few narrow roads; closer to the viewer are small branches and tree trunks intertwined in a cross, a symbol of the Divine Virtue imprinted everywhere.
