Salvatore Amelio - Annunciation

Salvatore Amelio is a prominent artist who lives and works in Cento. Amelio's work is set in metaphysical spaces where reality is transformed by lucid rationality and everything is suspended in a dimension without space and time. Amelio's metaphysics, however, is distinguished by an exploration of form that makes his style unique and revolutionary. The subjects that appear in Amelio's works are the result of spiraling biomorphic movements; they are bodies that generate themselves by twisting and turning, suspended in the void. In their rotating dynamism, we can sense all their potential for movement and intuit their interactions with the surrounding space and atmosphere. This complex aesthetic, which the artist develops in both painting and sculpture, is supported by an impeccable formal technique based on a deliberately illusory hyperrealism, in the finest metaphysical-surrealist tradition.
