Description of the work
Description of the work
The work reinterprets the work "Irene and Her Sisters", painted by Tamara De Lempicka in 1925. Tamara De Lempicka, who lived between 1898 and 1980, was a key figure in the Art Deco movement, with her paintings full of plastic values represented in a complex Cubist decomposition.
In this painting essay, painter Renzo Bettiolo doesn't simply copy Tamara de Lempicka's model, but offers his own interpretation. His vision, in fact, involves a deconstruction of volumes in favor of a compositional complexity made of curved and sinuous lines. Bettiolo's rendering is also much more painterly than the ostentatious hyperrealism of the model.
As we can see from this painting, Renzo Bettiolo is a painter with excellent technical training. Born in Mirano in 1948, his works primarily focus on compositional complexity through a complex linearity of structure.
