Rap and Trap

The title of the work refers to the shifts in genre and style that characterize the art scene, as well as the music scene. An equivalent of this juxtaposition of styles, which leads a group of artists to paint in a style opposed to that of another group of their peers, could be graffiti art itself. Like street painting or even urban street art, graffiti aims to beautify urban spaces, as opposed to the contemplative use of artworks in museums. But it also refers to the juxtaposition of styles in art: installation and painting, poor installation and urban installation, pop and realism, readymade and painting, English bad painting and painting, and the list could go on.
