Petrovic - Untitled

Landscape has always played a leading role in artistic research, both as a setting and a backdrop, but also as a subject in its own right. The naturalistic description of landscape has been one of the greatest aspirations for artists of every era. Each historical period has given its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its description: first with a study of space, through Brunelleschian perspective in the early Renaissance; then with the rendering of atmosphere in the sixteenth century; and finally with the representation of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

The artist Petrovic stands out for a landscape painting in which he seeks out characteristic views, full of their own lyricism. Hence, his taste for the picturesque glance, for the evocative framing. On a formal level, all this resolves into a very loose and dynamic painterly approach that guarantees freshness and immediacy of execution. His brushwork, therefore, is characterized by a remarkably cursive touch, made of sudden flourishes, effective in capturing the light vibrations on objects. We can see this above all in the execution of the foliage or in the reflections in the body of water. The entire composition is pervaded by a quiet realism and a freshness deriving from the artist's technical ability.

Petrovic is a painter who dedicates himself above all to landscape painting with a very lyrical vision of phenomenal reality. For the artist, it is essential to translate emotions into images through a very loose and cursive touch of Impressionist inspiration.
