Description of the work
Description of the work
Looking at this self-portrait by Pasqualina De Castris, we can understand how this painter's primary interest is to convey life into her paintings. This work is nothing more than a snapshot, in which Pasqualina De Castris captures an absolutely realistic image. The photographic framing conveys a dynamic, unfolding scene, in which the artist's expressive, moving brushstrokes eliminate any sense of stillness and capture the complexity of human vision. The painting is completed by Pasqualina De Castris's technical expertise, which captures her subjects with a soft naturalism.
