Detail – Antonio Pedretti

A work that captures the essence of natural detail: oil on canvas, 80×100 cm, created in 2022 by Antonio Pedretti, one of the most significant contemporary Lombard painters.

With the precision and sensitivity that characterize him, Pedretti focuses his gaze on a fragment of nature – stems, flowers, bushes – transforming the detail into an inner landscape. Biography of Antonio Pedretti

Born in 1950 in Gavirate, Antonio Pedretti trained at the Castello Sforzesco School of Painting and the Brera Academy. From his first solo exhibition in Varese, he distinguished himself for a rare painterly sensitivity, with palette-knife landscapes of great emotional intensity. In the 1980s, he abandoned the avant-garde to return to a naturalistic representation of nature, focusing on botanical details – stems, flowers, bushes – with a technical and poetic attention that has made him an established artist in the Italian art scene.
