Description of the work
Born in Alessandria in 1920, Quarati attended the Art School in Turin and graduated from the Brera Academy in Milan, a student of Pompeo Borra. From 1968 onwards, he taught at the Art School in Alessandria, and from 1970-72 he lectured on chromatology at the Brera Academy under Luigi Veronesi. In 1974, along with Bramati, Cremonini, and Lo Staino, he joined the Grum 74 group and participated in all of the movement's major exhibitions. In 1980, he won first prize in the Luciano Ricchetti national painting competition in Piacenza.
