MSC - "Romana"

An innate love for beauty and a constant pursuit of it have led the artist to depict the female figure in every context; his figurative works depicting women are united by this sense of admiration, almost devotion, towards the female figure, elevated to an ethereal, mythological figure, highlighting its purity.
In this case, a Roman woman is depicted in an intimate moment: just out of the bathtub filled with thermal water and scented with warm, floral essences, she is preparing to go to the mirror, wrapping herself in a soft fabric that she lets slide down the stairs, recalling the wax of a candle. As the flame burns, like the woman's soul, the wax drips down the young woman's shoulders.
In creating this masterpiece, the artist has perhaps created one of the most beautiful contrasts ever seen: the woman's figure, despite the darkness of the room, is illuminated by the glimmer of the candles, to the point of merging with them, shining with a mysterious and intimate light of its own.
This magnetism is achieved not only by the skillful use of light and contrast, but also by the softness and clarity of the figure's contours, which subsequently blend, with more vibrant and imprecise brushstrokes, into the white fabric that envelops her, before merging with the surrounding environment, creating a marvelous play of contrasts and making the scene almost surreal, as if we were witnessing something so wonderful that it is indescribable in words. The artist allows us to enter a place and observe a scene that would normally be forbidden to witness, but with respect and admiration for that creature almost compared to the divine.
