We can observe the artist's versatility through this large-scale painting, characterised by its extraordinary pictorial technique. We see a Paris of the past, in the evening, characterised by the presence of typical elements of the time, such as cars and the clothing of the subjects depicted: prostitutes, who frequent the same bar overlooking the Arc de Triomphe, which we can glimpse in the distance thanks to the quick, imprecise, yet focused brushstrokes. The artist played with shapes, vivid colours, and opulence in the depiction of the main subjects: flashy clothes, jewellery, and accessories that are at once opulent and playful (note the women's colourful stockings that deliberately emerge from their petticoats, and from this we can decipher the "nature" of the young women intently conversing among themselves).
Technically, depth is rendered, rather than by a well-defined perspective, by the superposition of colors and contour lines, more evident in the foreground and evanescent in the background.
The conviviality of the scene depicted is given by the use of saturated and warm hues, excellent for conveying the idea of ​​a late afternoon context.
