Meditation of Christ.

The work depicts Christ meditating on his wounds, rising to Heaven from his sad fate. The composition may vaguely recall that of the master "Pietro Vannucci."
He displays his wounds in such a way as to appear modest and ready to ascend to Heaven. Both the frugal landscape and the sparse color contrast with the book where the Cross is depicted above the stringcourse. The book bears the phrase "The faithful know the body of Christ," meaning that his followers fear no fate because they know the good face of God, until the wounds fade.

It could be placed on the previous panel, “The Deposition of Christ” would go to its upper edge, as an altarpiece, as a sequel, as the return to Heaven.
