Description of the work
A tribute to the future: to the women and treasures of my city
Motherhood is a central event in a man's life and is also one of the most important and significant artistic themes: The future of humanity depends on the value given to motherhood and birth. Motherhood, beautiful, immortal, and eternal, is a heritage that must be protected. It's wonderful to swap the brush's connotations with those of the photographic medium, not to transform photography into painting, but to create something different from painting and photography: is it painting, or is photography also painting? Photography is a displacement, it's art as play.In the game of eternity and maternity, we "daydream." Pregnant women, Bela Rosin, the odalisque, Madame Butterfly, the nanny and the twins, the three graces, are portraits of contemporary women. Women who have put themselves on the line, masters of themselves and their individuality, with all their beauty and sensuality, but also worries, fragility, desires, fears, and expectations.
Daydreaming thus becomes the most sincere way of talking to ourselves, making us active protagonists of our inner reality.
With these photographs I want to create a sort of temporal confusion between present, past and future; the essence of life and death cannot be perceived by reason, but only by emotion.Eternity Maternity wants to be a hymn to women and their potential .
The Eternity Maternity project culminates at Villa Durazzo Pallavicini in Genoa, where it finds its "natural" conclusion. A meticulously designed project, it accompanies mothers-to-be from the interiors of magnificent buildings to the exteriors of an esoteric historical park rich in feminine symbolism. From inside to outside, from motherhood to birth... Flora (Gardens of Flora) is the deity who personifies spring. Diana (Temple of Diana on the Great Lake) represents the completeness of the feminine being.
