Description of the work
Description of the work
The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images.
In several works, the artist Malpol displays a certain predilection for abstract composition. Reality is completely reworked by the painter through a process of mechanomorphic reconstruction. Formally, however, Malpol maintains his predilection for pop aesthetics. Even these geometric figurations seem to have emerged from a comic book or a serialized graphic novel. The linearity and compactness of the colors are consistent with his most pop paintings.
Paolo Malossini, known professionally as Malpol, was born in Riva del Garda in 1951 and lives in the hamlet of Varone. His interest in painting began in the 1980s thanks to his association with the painters of the "Borgo di Calvola" and the "Casa degli artisti di Tenno." He then began his career as a self-taught artist. Since 2011, he has been a member of the "Amici dell'arte" group in Riva del Garda.
