L. Servolini - Snowfall

Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Servolini is known for his landscape painting, which seeks distinctive views, imbued with a distinctive lyricism. Hence his penchant for picturesque views and evocative framing. Formally, this translates into an extremely lively and dynamic pictorial style that ensures freshness and immediacy of execution. His brushstrokes are therefore characterized by a decidedly cursive touch, made up of sudden flicks, effectively capturing the vibrations of light on objects. This is particularly evident in the execution of tonal transitions that measure space and the variations in light, highlighted by rapid touches of luminous white. The entire composition is imbued with a calm naturalism and a freshness deriving from the artist's technical prowess.

L. Servolini is an artist who focuses primarily on landscape painting, with a highly lyrical vision of phenomenal reality. For the artist, translating emotions into images through a vibrant, cursive style inspired by Impressionism is essential.
