Description of the work
Iolanda Secondulfo, known professionally as Jole, was born in Naples on July 31, 1973. She is a painter and copyist who focuses on landscape, abstract, and figurative art. Her passion for art began with pencil drawing, which she enjoyed throughout her youth, before moving on to oil and acrylic painting on canvas. In recent years, she has perfected her craft under the guidance of maestro Claudio Scarano, one of the last painters of the "Posillipo School," and has made art her life's work and her greatest passion. She sells her paintings in Europe and the United States and will soon have an exhibition in Vienna. One of her works, "La Lavanda dei Piedi," accompanied the poem "Un sogno" by Lusito Letizia. She also modeled in the "ModArte" fashion show, wearing one of her paintings painted on her dress. In recent years he has participated in several exhibitions throughout Italy and in several competitions where he has seen several awards, including: "EXPO Milano 2015 International Contemporary Art" curated by the historian and art critic Giorgio Grasso with the art critic Vittorio Sgarbi as guest and judge; "D'arte contemporanea" at the Mediolanum Art Gallery again curated by Giorgio Grasso and with Vittorio Sgarbi as president of the jury (where he won the Mediolanum prize); "Giù la maschera" curated by Francesco Dau with the critic Giorgio Grasso as guest; "L'arte di no alla violenza sulle donne" curated by Anna Silvia Angelini with the critic Giorgio Grasso as guest; the first artistic cultural exhibition dedicated to the Alpine corps "Alpini: storie di guerra storie di pace" organized by Juri Comagli at the end of which the artist donated the painting exhibited at the exhibition which is now on display at the Museo degli Alpini in Brescia; “XXIII Edition of the Megaris National Award 2014” organized by the Megaris Cultural Association, in which she received the Megaris Lifetime Achievement Award; the exhibitions “Festa dell'uva e del vino”, “Arte e Cinema”, “La finestra sull'arte”, “Donna D'autore”, “Velletri Wine Festival” and “Donna D'autore 2°Ed.” curated by Anna Silvia Angelini; “Edition of the international course: La Finestra Eterna 2017” curated by Rosario Medaglia, in which she won the first prize; “Miti e leggenda” curated by Giuseppe Apa; several exhibitions curated in her home town including “Vivi il Natale” curated by the culture councilor Luigi Coppola, the first and second edition of the “Festa della Catalanesca” curated by Salvatore Auriemma and the Borgo Casamale Association and the “Mostra al Teatro Summarte” organized by Antonella della Monica and several exhibitions curated by the same and others.
