Gisella Raimondi, a kaleidoscope of emotions

There are artists who, through their figurative resources, manage to create a new conception of the world, in which the connection with reality remains essential, but where all sensory reality is brought into play, deconstructed and reconstructed in order to shape an original artistic language. This is the goal pursued by Gisella Raimondi, a painter born in Turin but resident in Latina. With her ability to interpret composition and color, she manages to translate her aesthetic vision into images. In this painter's works, one is literally catapulted into a joyful and radiant world, in perpetual motion, where the normal laws of physics are subverted by a playful game. A world governed by irrationality, we might say, were it not for the fact that the compositions are harmoniously balanced by other laws, those of form and color. Moving on to a more specific analysis, it seems that Gisella Raimondi has placed reality within a kaleidoscope, allowing the viewer to be enchanted by small, fairy-tale villages where every spatial rule is subverted. Everything is in a perpetual rotation that lends vivacity to the entire composition, within which the objects playfully participate in this compositional game, forming a joyful circle across the surface of the painting. The game is engaging and captivates the viewer, drawing them into the center of that joyful, dynamic vortex. The sensation of being inside a vast kaleidoscope is further confirmed (and inevitably) by the use of color. First and foremost, the hues: bright, precious, they adapt wonderfully to the playful activities taking place within the works. But what is most significant is the artist's skill in crafting the decorations surrounding the main subjects, so much so that some paintings tend towards a Gothic stained-glass-like complexity due to the sensory stimulation exerted by the quality of the colour combined with the quantity of details.
