Description of the work
Description of the work
Gino Berardi was born in Pietranico (PE) in 1945 and studied in the province of L'Aquila. His artistic career began in the mid-1960s, using pencils, pastels, oils, acrylics, and mixed media, creating visually striking works with intense chromatic impact.
A former high school teacher and freelance journalist, he created and hosted television programs, founded the cultural center "SpazioeArte," and received the titles of Knight, Official Knight, and Commander of the Italian Republic.
He spent 10 years abroad, where he completed his artistic and cultural education, meeting and associating with well-known figures from the worlds of entertainment, politics, art, and culture, such as Max Ernst in Zurich, Mario Schifano, Franz Borghese, Remo Brindisi, Michele Cascella, Bernard Toppi, and many others.
He has been present on the national and European art scene for over 50 years. From his initial affinity with Impressionism, particularly his seascapes with boats, snowy landscapes, and spring scenes, he has subsequently developed a coherent stylistic path, creating works of great aesthetic rigor within the canons of abstract and informal art.
Major galleries in Italy and abroad have hosted solo and group exhibitions of G. Berardi's work, and over the years he has exhibited in numerous cities: Rome, Milan, Bari, Palermo, Pescara, Venice, Vibo Valentia, Chieti, L'Aquila, Teramo, Pesaro, Assisi, Urbino, Terni, Verona, Vicenza, Padua, Bologna, Ancona, Turin, Foggia, Naples, Viareggio, Campobasso, Termoli, Vasto, Viterbo, Rieti, Genoa, Sulmona, Florence, and Cremona.
He has exhibited in several foreign cities and in non-European countries: Rochester, London, Paris, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Barbados and many other places.
He has been invited to numerous national awards, events and competitions (among the most recent the Sulmona Prize and the Limen Arte of Vibo Valentia presided over by judges and critics of national and international standing such as V. Sgarbi, Duccio Trombadori, G. Di Genova, Maurizio Vitiello, Enzo Le Pera, Loredana Finicelli, Schantal Mayer, Habis Chiha and others.
