Franco Cigheri - Elba Island

Two women on a beach on the island of Elba. A moment of tranquility and silence, in contact with nature and the sea. A bucolic atmosphere enhanced by the use of color and chromatic combinations.

Cigheri's pictorial style is highly appreciated by critics for its ability to use a universal visual language. His painting technique enhances both light and color, bringing to life harmonious and serene scenes, very often landscapes, thanks to the use of soft tones and the careful representation of natural elements.

Franco Cigheri was born in Montespertoli in 1905 and died in Portoferraio in 1978. He was invited to exhibit in 1946 in a group show with painters such as Giancarlo Castelvecchi and Carlo Dominici. Painters who share a love for the landscape and the Tuscan countryside.
