FATIMAH AND THE YELLOW BUTTERFLIES

Dedicated to all those women fleeing the wars in Africa generated by the greed of rich countries.
A diagonal line divides the painting in two: below, the glare of war and the aridity of the desert, and above, a black wall against which three yellow butterflies stand out. Women at risk of dying at sea, but once they arrive, instead of being welcomed, they find themselves faced with a black wall of hypocrisy. Yet in the darkness, the three butterflies stand out, symbolizing the three graces—splendor, joy, and prosperity—flying beyond that black wall.
