Description of the work
Description of the work
The work "Flowers" depicts a light blue vase resting on a red table. Inside the vase, yellow, red, and white flowers bloom, with well-defined petals thanks to bold black outlines. The background is indistinct, with a blurred effect that creates a suggestive and suspended atmosphere. The composition is simple yet intense, with vibrant colors that catch the eye.
Eva Fischer's style in this lithograph is expressive. The use of black lines highlights the shapes, while the intentional blurring adds depth and movement. The colors are bright and contrasting, creating a strong visual impact. The work combines figurative elements with personal interpretation.
Eva Fischer was born in Yugoslavia in 1920. She lived in Italy from 1941 and in Rome from 1946, a city that deeply inspired her art. A painter by vocation, she chose art with freedom and determination. She traveled the world during difficult times, carrying her paintings under her arm, but always returned to Rome, where she exhibited for the first time in 1947. A friend of Mafai, Guttuso, and Cagli, she believed that art did not depend on a bohemian lifestyle, but on commitment and passion. For her, painting was a continuous journey in search of authenticity.
