Description of the work
Description of the work
The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images. Eugene Amoruso's artistic language is based on the exploration of pure forms. The artist proceeds consistently to reconstruct reality through a mechanomorphic process. The perceptible world is condensed into mirrored surfaces, which multiply the interplay of sharp edges and, consequently, the decomposition and reconstruction of reality. Hence the use of materials with shiny or reflective surfaces such as glass or resin. Eugene Amoruso is an artist from Bari, born in 1949. He creates sculpture inspired by a geometric interpretation of reality, exploiting the interplay of reflective surfaces. One of his works is housed at the MAMbo in Bologna.
