Eugene Amoruso - Silver Sculpture

The work is a composition of the abstract genre. Abstract derives from the Latin term “Abstrahere,” which means to extract, to pull out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists in eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Miró, many painters pushed the process of abstraction to its limits in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instinctuality into images.

Eugene Amoruso's artistic language is based on the search for pure forms. The artist systematically proceeds to reconstruct reality according to a mechanomorphic process. The sensible world is condensed into mirrored surfaces, which multiply the interplay of angles and, consequently, the decomposition and reconstruction of reality. Hence the use of materials with glossy or reflective surfaces such as glass or resin.

Eugene Amoruso is an artist from Bari born in 1949. He dedicates himself to sculpture inspired by a geometric interpretation of reality, exploiting the interplay produced by reflective surfaces. One of his works is kept at the Mambo in Bologna.
