Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been an artist's aspiration throughout the centuries. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

The composition of the work demonstrates a perfect naturalistic approach to sculptural art. A classical approach creates a broad perspective view in which all elements are placed proportionally. The artist's remarkable technical skill allows him to depict every detail with extreme realism.

Enzo Filippini was an artist originally from Brescia, where he was born in 1924 and passed away in 2001. His pictorial production was highly eclectic, with references ranging from Utrillo to Mirò, but some inspiration can also be found in Roualt. He created the emblem of the Tricolore acrobatic team. He exhibited his works in numerous locations, including London, Brescia, Lignano Riviera, Milan, Turin, Gorizia, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Rovereto, New York, Treviso, Biella, and Bergamo.
