Description of the work
Description of the work
The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images.
The work is based on a mechanomorphic vision of reality, the product of a gaze that stores sensory reality and then breaks it down geometrically. In this case, however, it is the subject itself that triggers the geometric reconstruction. It is, in fact, the presence of the butterfly and its vital energy that determines the division of space into pure forms and pure colors.
De Michele is undoubtedly a painter influenced by the historical avant-garde and abstract movements. While he doesn't entirely renounce the figurative element in his compositions, his aesthetic is nonetheless based on a deconstruction of perceptible reality and its subsequent reconstruction through pure forms and colors.
