Daniela Sirigu - Passage No. 3

Daniela Sirigu was born in Nuoro in 1981, but at the age of four she moved to Tuscany, where she currently lives and works. She graduated from the art school in Sesto Fiorentino and began working in the decoration sector. In the following years she changed jobs several times, but her passion and the experience she gained in painting led her to set up her own business as a decorative painter and open an atelier in Prato. Her artistic path is constantly evolving, a result of her desire to always try new techniques and new materials. Her style can be defined as modern figuration or modern impressionism, characterized by a fast and vigorous technique with thick colors applied with a brush or palette knife. She paints using various techniques, from watercolor to epoxy resin, but prefers to use oil or acrylic paint. Her paintings depict everyday life, glimpses and passersby; she uses her own photographs taken in the sunlight, often among the tourists in the crowded squares of her beloved Florence, to portray harmonious compositions made of shapes and colors. Her works are representations of life, of ordinary and casual moments, of undefined emotions. In modern society, which is increasingly fast-paced, people dissolve into the place that surrounds them, losing their personal identity. She participates in several group exhibitions and art competitions. Many of her works are in private collections, commissioned or selected from among her produced works.
