Carlo Treves - Landscape

The landscape depicts a road running alongside the banks of a river. On one side of the road are trees with undulating forms, while an imposing bridge crosses the river, joining the two banks. In the distance, the rooftops of a city can be glimpsed, rendered in brick-red tones. The atmosphere is serene, almost suspended, thanks to the soft light. The clear sky contributes to conveying a sense of tranquility.

The style of the work is characterized by a soft, blurred rendering, with a delicate use of light that creates a peaceful atmosphere. The outlines are slightly highlighted with white lines, while the tree trunks appear undulating, giving a sense of fluidity. The overall composition of shapes and colors is harmonious.

Carlo Treves was an Italian painter known for his distinctive style, characterized by energetic brushstrokes and graphic works. Born in 1934, he trained in Rome, but his artistic career was marked by personal and professional difficulties. In the 1990s, due to health problems related to alcoholism, he fell ill, but continued to paint despite his precarious condition.
