Carlo Malnati - Mask

In this charcoal drawing, Malnati combines the two iconographic motifs of still life and portraiture.

This series of charcoal drawings by Carlo Malnati is distinguished by its superb technical execution. The artist essentially adheres to a figurative style, with great care and refinement in the details. He avoids painterly effects, so much so that the images appear sharp with a polished objectivity. However, it can be noted that Malnati does not shy away from experimenting with expressionistic effects, even within a vocabulary linked to drawing from life.

Carlo Malnati is an artist born in Varese in 1946 who had a long career in which he worked on interior and luxury car design, but also on painting, both figurative and abstract.
