Description of the work
Description of the work
A noble animal, a symbol of beauty and harmony, the horse has repeatedly been a prominent subject in the history of art. Since the fourteenth century, its presence has always been obligatory in battle scenes and equestrian monuments, and painters have always found it a challenge to depict it with anatomical precision and naturalistic rendering.
In this series of works on paper, Camillo Fait enhances the figure of the horse, its dynamism and energy. He does so with entirely pictorial compositions, all playing on color and its expressive quality. Color is used lightly, diluted to create persuasive resonances between the movement of the horses and the space in which they interact. The hues are light, filled with a crisp sunlight. Formally, the touch is rapid, rendering the forms with immediacy.
Camillo Fait is an artist born in Milan in 1935, where he lives and works. He initially trained under Aligi Sassu as a sculptor and ceramist, later moving on to graphic design. Only after attending the Augusto Colombo art school did he fully dedicate himself to painting. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and events, including those held internationally, receiving acclaim and recognition. His works are held in public and private collections in Italy, Finland, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, and Germany.
