Caiaphas

The idea for this pastel painting came to me while attending a religious-themed event in December 2018. I spoke with the amateur actor who played Caiaphas, the high priest during the time of Christ, and then enlisted the help of a photographer friend for a studio shoot. I chose the pose I thought best and used that as a reference to create the portrait. Many details, especially parts of the clothing and jewelry, are entirely fictional (the reason was that the model's suit featured a lot of modern stitching). I like to think of Caiaphas as an unpleasant, austere, and wealthy person.

The transaction takes place with maximum security for both the seller and the buyer. We take care of the conformity (provenance, authenticity, state of conservation) of the work and handle the shipping.
